PEEL AQUATIC CLUB - MAKING A SPLASH THIS WINTER

PAQ ELITE To Attend the Commonwealth Games

For the first time in Peel Aquatics history, we have 2 swimmers attending the Commonwealth Games Lewis Burras and Oliver Brehaut.

After Lewis Burras having had much success at the British Swimming Championships 2022 to secure his debut spot on the team and winning Bronze in Budapest, he will go on to represent Great Britain.

You will see Lewis swim the 50m and 100m freestyle events.

Lewis became the British Record Holder for swimming an impressive 47.63.

After an extremely successful Australian Championships, Oliver Brehaut has been selected

to represent Team Jersey which is an island where he was born. Ollie will be swimming the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle events as well as the mixed and mens 4 x 100m freestyle relay and the 4 x 100m medley relay.

We wish the both of you the best of luck, we will be cheering you on!

As I write this Kayla has just won a Bronze medal in the British Nationals Competition and

we wish her further success in her upcoming 100m and 200m Breastroke events.

The rest of the Elite Squad are currently in training for Australian Short Course

Championships to be held in Sydney 24-28th August. We wish you every success!

Senior’s

Seniors have been training hard throughout the Winter season for the upcoming Hancock Prospecting Short Course Championships. This will be held at HBF Stadium 5-7th August.

Congratulations to everyone that has achieved times for this meet whether this is your first state qualifying time/s or if you are a seasoned competitor, we wish you the best of luck.

Junior’s

After much success in the pool this short course season, we have plenty of swimmers

achieving their first state times, we wish to congratulate you all. Junior Short Course

Championships isn’t far away please get your entries in, remember to have fun and listen to your parents. Make sure you talk to your coach on pool deck before and after each swim.

We absolutely love seeing the friendships formed at these swim meets! Good luck to all of

our junior swimmers!

Exciting Changes to The Club!

Peel will be introducing some new and exciting programs. Along with the relaunch of the

Dolphins Squad, we also have Mini Dolphins starting along with a new Fitness Squad. This

will compliment all sports including but not limited to open water and water polo training, boosting your performance, improving your cardiovascular fitness, as well as building your aerobic capacity and develop muscle strength.

A Note from Your Head Coach Zoe

I’m really excited to be working with the coaching team and committee on some new projects that will include skills clinics, a new club night format and some further squad development.

There is so much potential for growth and change at this club and I’m thrilled to be a part of all the exciting new changes.

As always, being away at a high-profile international meet brings a wealth of new information and I’m looking forward to working with all of the coaches when I am back on pool deck.

Congratulations and good luck to all state qualifiers who will be competing at both Junior and Senior State Championships in the coming weeks.
